Heather Alfonso

Senior Controller

Heather’s more than 15-year career began in public accounting in taxes and audits, around the same time she took up Latin dancing. After five years, she sidestepped into the private sector as the controller for Orlando Harley Davidson, helping grow the small franchise into three motorcycle dealerships and six retail locations. Before joining APN, she worked as controller for a general contractor specializing in building big-box retail stores throughout the Southeast. Today, she applies her choreographed blend of budgeting, forecasting, documentation and spreadsheet skills toward providing QuickBooks consulting and outsourced accounting services for our clients.

Meet Heather

Q: What is your hometown and what do you love about it?

I’m Cuban and my family is from Key West, Florida. I grew up in Melbourne, Florida, so the beach is my sanctuary and I fly home to visit as much as I can.

 

Q: When you’re not working you’re…?  

Dancing. I’ve been a Latin dancer for as long as I’ve been a CPA—it’s my outlet! I’m a dancer with Dangerous Curves Dance Company and a member of Paso Fino Dance Studio, both in Atlanta. I travel all over the country performing and showcasing various styles of dance, from Salsa to Bachata, Cha-Cha, Hip-Hop, Dancehall and more.

 

Q: What inspires you?

My parents. I’m the first and only one in my family to graduate college.

 

Q: What challenge are you looking forward to taking on?

I’m looking forward to getting involved in the business development side of APN.  I love meeting new clients and helping them revamp a struggling business, or get their business started.
